You Mean the World to Me: Papertrey Ink's April 2016 Bloghop

Hello all and happy Monday!

It has been months, (yes, *gasp* months!!) since I last participated in a PTI bloghop, so it's with great pleasure that I make this post!! Here was the challenge inspiration photo for this month:
What mostly inspired me were the rich colors and the circles which inspired the circular wreath on my card:
I started with a Kraft cardstock card base, which after having die cut with a faux stitching die from Lawn Fawn, I set aside. Then, using an MFT stitching die, I die cut a slightly smaller than A2 size card panel from Rustic White cardstock. On that, using Dark Chocolate ink, I stamped the wreath from the Twig Wreath stamp set from PTI. I used generational stamping but after each impression, I slightly off-set/twisted the stamp so as to avoid an exact impression and for depth. Afterward, I stamped various other foliage also from the same stamp set in Berry Sorbet, Melon Berry, Orange Zest, Canyon Clay, Autumn Rose and Ripe Avocado ink, each time stamping twice and offsetting the second time, again for depth and interest.
Then, I die cut from Kraft cardstock the Twig wreath and stamped it with dark chocolate ink. I glued that down over the previously stamped wreaths. Then, I added other bit of foliage, at times using dimensional adhesive for depth and dimension and to render the wreath "fuller". I die cut the "Just because" from Berry Sorbet cardstock using the Scripted die set. The companion sentiment (from the same set) was stamped in Dark Chocolate Ink onto a banner die cut using the Quilted Tag Sale die set from Rustic White cardstock. It was all mounted onto my A2 sized card base and finished off with some gold enamel dots (from the Gilded Garden mini kit).

This card is being sent off to my aunt who is very ill. She could use some love and encouragement and well....just as the card says-- because she means the world to me!

Thanks for stopping by and for sharing a small part of your day with me! :) Happy hopping and until next time...craft on!

  1. Beautiful bright spring wreath! Love the colors!

  2. Quite beautiful! Love this Twig Wreath, and you added such pretty flowers. Really like the many stamped and diecut layers of the wreath.

  3. Really beautiful stamping and layout. I don't own Twig Wreath, but I'm not sure I would ever have thought of multiple stampings of the wreath image, combined with the die cut. It really makes a gorgeous impact! Love this.

  4. Such a beautiful wreath! Love the colors! You really came up with a creative take on this challenge!

  5. This is beautiful! I love how you used one of my favourite sets! Great take on the inspiration piece!

  6. Beautiful in every way! I love all the dimension in this card.

  7. This is gorgeous! I love all the layers you've achieved on this card between stamping and die cutting. Perfectly done! I also enjoyed seeing this set be used with these fabulous spring colors. Beautiful!!

  8. So pretty. Your aunt will love his card. I hope she gets well soon! Beautiful card!
