MIM: Three-Panel Cards

Just sneaking this one in...the photo is absolutely dreadful but wanted to still participate before the challenge closes. I'll try to take better pictures tomorrow and repost to do the card justice!

PTI January Bloghop: Hearts

Such lovely inspiration for this month's hop-- I was immediately inspired by a ton of books colors and hearts, of course.

I started with an Aqua Mist top-folding A2 card base and then matted it with patterned paper from the Shakers and Sprinkles Make It Market kit.  Then die cut the stitched heart also from aqua mist and the scalloped heart frame from white cardstock. The "scripty" font love is a beautiful die from Carta Bella's Open Book collection. Then fishtail banner is from Tag Sale #10 and the ampersand and  "sunshine" are from the Shakers and Sprinkles stamp set inked in Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry Fizz, respectively. Somewhat twine and a couple of enamel dots to finish it off!
Happy hopping as always, craft on!

MIM #197: DIY Stickers

Just a quick post to participate in this week's MIM, in which we were challenged to create stickers with foam and dies. Here's my take:
I tend to struggle with masculine cards, they are nearly as much of my cardmaking Achille's heel as CAS cards are. But, I have a very large family and thus need to always have masculine cards in hand, so I opted to make one, especially since these require "bare bones"and the stickers give just the extra bit of interest and texture without the frills.

Thanks for stopping by!

Runway Inspired Challenge #75: Sending Love

Sneaking this one in as it's only a few hours until the linky closes! Here is the gorgeous inspiration for the challenge:
Isn't it fabulous? So my card was mainly inspired by the color and the bling and intricate design at her neck--

Due to the striking and nearly overpowering color, I wanted to balance it with some white space. I began by using my confetti making piece of my PTI Shakers & Sprinkles heart dies. I created the shaker portion and inserted the hearts, glitter and some sequins. I actually did not have cardstock in the pink neon color, so I took my white paper and swiped my Hero Arts Neon Pink dye ink pad and then die cut the stitched heart frame and "love".  Then to add some interest, I inked up my new to me Garden Grace PTI stamp set. For the leaves I used Hero Arts' Neon chartreuse and the same pink for the flowers--the second part of the stamp was 2nd generation, so that it matched perfectly.

I finished it off with the enamel dots and stamped "sending" from the Sparkle and Shine stamp set and then mounted it to a card base that was embellished with Lawn Fawn's stitched mats for interest. In real life it truly shines and strikes the eye much like the dress. Well I hope you enjoy my interpretation!! :)

Thank you, have a great weekend and craft on!

Virginia's View Challenge #11: Clean Slate

Happy weekend to all!

So I'm back with a card for Virginia's View Challenge. I needed to make some post-Christmas "Thank You" cards for my aunt and thought PTI's Painted Poinsettias paired with bold colors, masking and Laura Bassen's die cut camouflage technique would be perfect! The "Thanks" was cut with Wet Paint Cuts and the remainder of the sentiment was stamped onto a double ended banner from PTI's Tag Sale #10.  Popped the panel up with dimensional adhesive and attached it to an A2 card base and voilĂ , all done! Very snail mail friendly too...I hope my aunt will like it and so will you!

MIM #196: Colorful Card Corners

Well happy new year! This is the first card I'm sharing for 2015...I have really enjoyed perusing various blogs and seeing the "Favorite Cards of 2014" posts, so I'm considering doing one of those this week. Stay tuned! :) Back to this week's MIM, where Danielle Flanders challenges us to create a focal point in the corner of our card. Here is my attempt:

When I saw the challenge, I immediately grabbed my new to me Garden Grace stamp set from PTI. I couldn't find a more perfect set as part of it is made for embellishing card corners!
I started with a white card base and then used my horizontal cutting plate to cut  (like butter, might I add) Aqua Mist cardstock. Then inked up the first part of the two-step stamp with Hawaiian Shores and the second with Aqua Mist. The leaves were inked up with Memento's Bamboo Leaves and Pear Tart. Finished it off with a double ended banner from Tag Sale 10 and some enamel dots et voilĂ !
Close up of the corner

Have a great week and craft on!
