Color Throwdown #386-- Third time's a charm, right?

Okay, once I have my supplies and inks out, it's just as easy to create 3 cards as it is to create one, so here's yet another (final) helping for this week's gorgeous color combination:

I started by die-cutting from black cardstock this beautiful coverplate panel from PTI. Then, I cut from both black and white cardstock the bottom and top layers, respectively, this butterfly from PTI's Enclosed series. On the bottom white portion  I stamped the detail using Hawaiian Shores and Limeade Ice inks. I then layered the black portion with "blessed" on top. Then, I  cut small pieces of white cardstock and stamped the companion sentiments in black and adhered them on top of the butterfly. . Finally, placing glue only in the center portion so I could 'fluff-up' the wings (as you can see in this detail photo) and placed it in the center of the panel. I finished it off with some enamel dots and I'm done! This design would be easy to reproduce in an array of colors...I just might do that!

Color Throwdown #386-- A second helping!

I simply loved the color scheme over at the Color Throwdown, so I simply couldn't pass up the chance to create yet another card!

A fairly quick and easy card that could work for both sexes! I first die cut the balloon coverplate from PTI from white cardstock. Then, I die cut various sized balloons from an Avery Elle die set. I sponged Hawaiian Shores ink (PTI) onto the largest and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Citron onto the smaller two balloons. I then put a generous amount of clear Wink of Stella on the balloons for some added shine! You can somewhat see the sparkle in the close-up below.

 then, I stamped and heat embossed the streamers from a Mama Elephant set and colored them in with my Copics. I adhered the balloons to the panel and backed it with a black card front. I then die cut from black cardstock 3 times the "happy" and layered them for extra depth. Then using the stitched banner I stamped the companion sentiment. I finished it off with some baker's twine and I'm done!

Color Throwdown #386

Hello and happy Monday to all!

When I saw this week's colors for the Color Throwdown, I just knew I had to participate:
 Gorgeous, right?!

So here is my interpretation:

I first die cut this gorgeous coverplate from PTI that was released a few months ago from black cardstock. I adhered it to a top-folding white card base. Then, I used my Copics and Spectrum Noirs to color the centers of the butterflies but by using pointillism. Then, I took a blank piece of white cardstock, sponged on some Citron Distress Ink and then die cut the happy using the December Freebie 2015 die "One Big Happy" also from PTI. You can see it a bit more closely here. Then, I took a strip of white cardstock, stamped the companion sentiment and finished it off with scattered sequins from Pretty Pink Posh!

PTI: Anniversary Challenge- Day 3 Grab & Craft

Squeezing this in last minute so a super quick post:

I tend to keep around a bunch of pre-stamped and pre-die cut pieces around and store/label them for easy access, which thankfully makes "a grab and craft a card in 5 minutes" type challenge a breeze!

Papertrey Anniversary Challenge: Paper Crafting Alphabet

So, the challenge was to spell out our name using the corresponding alphabet found on Nichole Heady's blog and create a card. So, here's my final product for
1. O (Ombre)
2. R-- Unfortunately , I had to skip this step as I do not currently have a corner rounder.
3. E- Embossing resist
4. E- Same as above
5. T-Twine

Delight in the Little Things

It's been a long time, though I've been a bit more active on my Instagram account. This card is courtesy of and inspired by the rich and luscious colors for Colour Q #325:

And here's my interpretation:

I loved the rich colors and bringing in some earth, Kraft tones (crumb cake) with the wooden stars and twine to tie it all together (pun intended, hehe).

MFT Color Challenge: Smile and Be Joyful

I realize it has been quite a long time since my last post-- I've actually been really sick and still am...but here is a card I was able to put together during the (albeit rare and few and far between) minutes that I felt well enough to get out of bed and make the short trek to my craft room. As the title states, my inspiration was pulled from one of the latest MFT Color Challenges,

which is actually my first time playing! So without further ado, here's my card:

Colour Q: #315

Well hello,  just posting a quick entry for Colour Q's lovely #315 challenge,  the color scheme inspired by this beautiful photo:


So,  I needed some cards to send to a couple of nieces for their birthday  and decided that the dies and stamp set from Papertrey Ink's Party Pops Make-it-Market kit was perfect

 I began by cutting a card panel from white cardstock with a stitched die from My Favorite Things.  Then using the Party Pops kit dies,  I cut out the top portion of the cupcake that flips up.  Then I started my stamping,  using various stamps from the set in Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise,  New Leaf and Tropical Teal PTI inks. 

Though you unfortunately cannot see it in the photograph,  I also went ahead and added some clear Wink of Stella to the various party elements to add interest. I then backed the panel with Raspberry Fizz cardstock that was cut using my Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. 

And finally using Versafine black ink and clear embossing powder,  I heat embossed "Surprise" under the cupcake flap!  I hope you enjoy and until next time... Craft on!

A little vacation break...

I should have posted this sooner, like 4 weeks ago (ha, better late than never,right?) but just checking in to say I've been on vacation for the past few weeks. But I should be "back in action" as of this weekend, particularly with PTI's yearly Stamp-a-Faire commencing on the 29th (Saturday). Super excited and believe it or not, this will be the first year I'm participating in the festivities!
